If you know anything about Alberta, then you probably are already aware that the latter has its fair share of breweries and micro-breweries. But if you are looking for the best micro-brewery in Alberta, then it becomes a bit tricky — not because the best one can’t be found, but because “best” is a rather subjective word.

What we suggest is this: Go out there and experiment. Of course, spend some time reading articles and blog posts (what you are most likely doing right now), but know that the more breweries and micro-breweries you visit, the quicker you will be able to form your own opinion. And only then will you be able to find the best micro-brewery in Alberta.

But before taking off, let us give you one last piece of advice: Start with the Minhas Micro Brewery located in Calgary. The latter is generally considered to be one of the best micro-breweries in the province (and in the country). It’s the perfect brewery to start with, especially if you’ve never had the chance to try craft beer.

If you didn’t know, the Minhas Micro Brewery offers a brewery tour that runs 5 days a week and only costs about $10 per entry. On this tour you will be able to sample some of their premium brews as well as learn the history behind the brewery and how craft beer is made. All in all, it’s the perfect blend of beer and knowledge — two things that go quite well together! (Oh, and pizza too.)

So the next time you’re in Calgary, bring some friends along and go have a good time at the Minhas Brewery!
