SONY DSCUnfortunately, most people don’t know the difference between the beer that they buy from their local liquor store and craft beer. As a result, micro-brewers need all the love and support that they can get. If you are interested in supporting your local craft brewers in Calgary, here is what you can do:

  1. Buy from them. Who would have thought that this worked?! All humor aside though, buying from your local Calgary micro-brewers is the best way for you to support them. By doing this you will help micro-brewers stay in business and you will also win by having some delicious craft beer to enjoy!
  2. Partake in Calgary micro-brewery tours. Some micro-breweries like the Minhas Micro Brewery offer brewery tours to their customers. If you are interested to see the behind-the-scenes of a brewery where craft beer is made then we highly encourage you to partake in a brewery tour. Doing so will also go a long way towards supporting your local breweries. (Plus you’ll also get to sample some tasty beer.)
  3. Attend local beer festivals. Alberta is known to host several beer festivals annually, among them the Edmonton Craft Beer Festival which attracts hundreds of visitors each year. If you are interested in supporting your local brewers then we highly recommend that you attend beer festivals whenever you can, even if they don’t take place in Calgary. Beer festivals are really great when it comes to expanding your horizons.

Above all, don’t forget that craft beer is meant to be enjoyed!
